Background
Early on I found my way to a deeply loving relationship with movement as a mindfulness practice through martial arts, synchronized swimming, and yoga. I realized my desire to delve into movement science by pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Armed with knowledge, I gained experience working as an orthopedic physical therapist in San Francisco. I continued my education through the Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy and became a DONA trained birth doula.
In the outpatient setting I founded an obstetrics and pelvic health service where I had the pleasure of working interdisciplinary with among others, ob-gyn, urology, and midwifery professionals. During that time was honored to witness and support several births as a doula. Providing continuous labor support companionship truly helped me be more equipped to support the full spectrum of needs of the perinatal patients that I was seeing in the clinic.
Five years ago I made a big leap, following my heart to adopt a new home in the Netherlands. Here I continued my training by earning a Master in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy. In addition to my personalized offers, I am currently caring for patients with pelvic-related complaints clinically as a Bekkenfysiotherapeut ®.
Why Pelvic Health?
Intimate care requires trust, vulnerability, and often leads to deeper connection within the patient-provider relationship. It is my honor to co-create the safe space necessary to guide individuals as they reclaim their pelvic health and quality of life.
The reason I am so passionate about reproductive health is because I believe that early care and education provide scalable results.
I believe that when a person is held by their village during transformational periods like during the fertile years or the shifts that happen as we approach menopause, this has a positive impact on their healing, on their future health, and ripples into their family and greater community.
